HOORAY I'M 8 MONTHS OLD!

Ella turned 8 months old on Monday! It is hard to believe that we will be celebrating her 1st birthday in just FOUR months. It is amazing to watch her grow, learn, and observe. She had a lot of firsts this month. Here are the highlights:

  • She got table food for the first time: crackers, bananas, and ham. She loves it!
  • She drank apple juice for the first time or shall I say wore juice.
  • She pooped in the bathtub for the first time. That was fun!
  • She went on a nursing strike for 3 weeks but finally caved in! What a relief! Formula is not cheap.
  • She went to the pool for the first time.
  • She wore a bathing suit for the first time.
  • She took a bath with a friend for the first time.
  • She can hold her own bottle.

I am sure there is even more that I am forgetting. She is growing and getting soooo big. Jarrod and I are amazed at how big she is! She is still army/belly crawling and will get on her knees and rock a lot. But she is not crawling yet. She tries to pull up on small things: me, her basket of toys, the fireplace-yikes. It is now time to "babyproof"! She is interested in outlets, cords, and the pet dishes. She can find the tiniest piece of lint, trash, food, etc. on the floor-it's amazing! Luckily, her pinching skill is not mastered (which makes eating table food hard). She is going through MAJOR separation anxiety! So if someone else holds her, she gets upset. I am enjoying my time home with her this summer. We play, read, sing songs, take the dog for a walk, run errands, enjoy the pool (sometimes), and more. I look forward to all the new talents she will show us this month. She is our "little sunshine", and we adore her!

Isn't the development just amazing at this age? I love it! Let's get together sometime.
